I have heard about the horrors of puppy mills, and would really prefer to go a rescue group or pound. But want to be sure of the dog's disposition, so that integration in family life (close quarters that we have) is easy. I'm so grateful for the poodle information. Thank you!MothersVoxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02479178355207142195noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19421951.post-965240968472419152010-06-03T14:53:09.657-04:002010-06-03T14:53:09.657-04:00Generally just a lurker but if it'll help...po...Generally just a lurker but if it'll help...poodles tend to be hypo-allergenic. AND they come in toy sizes, to boot! (we have a toy poodle and she weighs about 7#). Just be aware of where you get him/her - poodles are big "puppy mill" dogs and can have lifelong problems with their knees and digestive systems if they haven't been bred by reputable breeders.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19421951.post-81515788082377502892010-06-03T08:53:46.795-04:002010-06-03T08:53:46.795-04:00Hi Liz! It is so great to travel on this journey with friends and allies!

And that's a brilliant idea to seek out an autism service dog breeder/trainer. I'm going to get started on that so that right away.MothersVoxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02479178355207142195noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19421951.post-41827676081136369852010-06-02T10:10:41.998-04:002010-06-02T10:10:41.998-04:00I do remember the dog-phobia days.

Ask for a recommendation.

A lot of the breeders know each other so recruiting a service dog breeder (typically bigger, 30+ pounds) in finding a physically & mentally sound small dog may work.Liz Ditzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03455722013211350247noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19421951.post-27795372814657605272010-06-02T08:30:49.688-04:002010-06-02T08:30:49.688-04:00I know, I know . . .
